Medical Mission held at Ganassi, LDS


Some 200 residents of Ganassi, Lanao del Sur have availed of Medical Services conducted by the Office of the Regional Vice Governor, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ORVG-ARMM) on August 31, 2013.


The activity was in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), ARMM, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-ARMM), Local Governmrnt of Ganassi, the 51st Army Infantry Batallion, Philippine Army headed by Capt. Ronald E. Dacawi for the Circumcission, haircutting, and security. The doctors of Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) in Marawi City headed by Drs. Hasmine M. Sumandar and Mangorsi were also present for the Medical consultations.


ARMM Regional Vice Governor and concurrent DSWD Regional Secretary Haroun Alrashid A. Lucman, Jr., and his wife Bai Omaima M. Lucman, personally manned the activities. This is composed of Medical consultation, Flu and Pneumococcal Vaccination, Circumcission, Provision of Medicines, and Haircutting.


Lucman said that despite of the meager budget in the Office of the Regional Vice Governor, he is trying to reach out his constituents by extending social services. “It is so self-fulfilling to directly deliver  services to our people” Lucman continued.  He said that similar activities will be conducted in other areas in the ARMM, preferably a remotest barangays.


In his speech, Mayor Al-Rashid B. Macapodi of Ganassi expressed gratitude to Regional Vice Governor Lucman for selecting his municipality as the first ever Medical Mission conducted by the ORVG since his assumption as vice governor of the region.


The DSWD, thru the Local Government of Ganassi, also distributed food supplies to the residents of the municipality(Nash E. Acan, ORVG).
